Overdose Fatality Review Data System Overview

To assist local communities in storing overdose fatality review (OFR) data, next-of-kin interviews, community context, and recommendations, the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—in partnership with the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), epidemiologists, researchers, and local OFR professionals—developed a secure, standardized data system in August 2019, known as the OFR Data System. This document provides an overview of the OFR Data System.
